This class will explore various surface techniques in clay.Based on student interest, we may explore sgraffito/carving, inlay, simple transfer, water etching and others!In this three-week special topics class, students can expect to explore a variety of surfaces on wet and leather hard clay; clay experience recommended, students are encouraged to form/construct clay forms (or simply tiles) in techniques that they are familiar with. The third week is reserved for glazing. Experience with clay is recommended; ages 16+.
Basic clay tools are provided (you are welcome to bring your own). Cost of clay includes glazing and firing cost and can be purchased separately (25lbs/bag). Please bring your own apron.
